Deena – Duty Manager & Fitness Class Instructor
- Level 2 Fitness Instructor
- Level 4 Nutritional Advisor
- BA Hons Psychology
My background isn’t what you would expect from a fitness trainer, I was never picked first for sports day and quit every team I joined before I even started! I found the gym at 26 when I was struggling with my mental health and have never looked back since. I have now been working in the fitness industry for 4 years and want to share my experience and knowledge to help you live a balanced life, to find enjoyment in diet and exercise, ultimately leading to a happier and healthier version of you.
My next step is to finish my Level 3 Personal Trainer course so I can help people on a more personal level reach their health and wellbeing goals. For now, you will find me either at reception or in the studio teaching.

Duty Manager & Fitness Class Instructor
Charlotte – Class Instructor and Group Exercise Coordinator, Duty Manager
- Level 2 Fitness Instructor
- Indoor Cycling Teaching Certificate
- Barre Fitness Teaching Certificate
I started with a degree in childcare but didn’t progress to getting my teaching qualification. In my spare time I would attend lots of classes and use the gym. A receptionist job at Supersonic was available and I thought it could be a great way to see if the fitness industry could be both a passion and career. Since joining Supersonic and seeing it grow, I have been given the opportunity to also develop myself. I am now a level 2 Fitness Instructor, with extra teaching qualifications including Cycling and Barre. I strongly feel exercise is beneficial to everyone’s physical and mental health.
Knowing I can help someone on their fitness journey brings the greatest feeling, even if it might only be through the smallest bit of information. I like to look after and care for people, which I enjoy doing for customers as well as managing the Supersonic team – a smile goes a long way!

Experience
I have over five years of experience working within the sports and fitness industry. When studying sports and exercise therapy at university, I gained excellent knowledge on how to best help my clients achieve their goals whether they are performance based, improvement of overall general fitness or to recover from injuries. My experiences of playing sports have allowed me to learn a variety of different fitness techniques and methods of training to suit different individuals and to help keep clients motivated.
I am a recently qualified as a Fitness Instructor and I’m working towards my Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification.
From a young age, I have always been interested in sport and exercise, particularly football which I now play at a professional level. Each sport I’ve played has taught me different skills and discipline that I apply within my client’s programmes to help motivate them and let them enjoy physical exercise/activity. During my time being injured and out of football, I learned how training correctly and eating the right nutritional food to aid my recovery is important. During this time, I also started to realise I wanted to help others with their fitness/rehabilitation goals, and I trained as a sports massage therapist before working for the York Knights. I’m love applying my expertise at Supersonic and look forward to what the future brings.

I have been training myself in the gym since the age of 16. I have always had a passion for fitness and transforming my body. Over the years, I have made a total change to my physique and overall health. From this, I decided to turn my passion into my career, to help many others do the same. Bodybuilding is my personal interest and where my goals currently lie. The mental health benefits I see from training is just incomparable.
My career began with my sister, in over 2 years she lost 5 stone and still now continues to reach goals and transform further with my help, I have since helped over 100 women do just this! The key when training my clients is to ensure that the programmes I put in place are sustainable (being the key) and achievable for individuals. Nutrition and training both play such a key role in reaching your goals and I have knowledge of both to ensure I provide you with optimal guidance. Are you ready to make a change but are unsure where to begin, or want to advance your knowledge to reach your ultimate goal? Then let me help you reach it.

- Training to become a Strength & Conditioning Coach
Experienced In

Training has always been a huge part of my life. I originally started exercising to lose weight and over the years have ventured through many various training types. I eventually found a love for powerlifting which I have now been doing for 5 years. I have competed in two competitions in which I received a 3rd place trophy. I love the training and the feeling of achieving a new personal best, but my goal is to eventually become a national level competitor.
Although it was the fundamentals of power lifting that sparked my drive to be a part of the fitness industry, I had always known I wanted to help people. My training and journey so far have provided me with the qualifications, knowledge and enthusiasm to help my clients reach their goals. If you are looking to increase general health and fitness, shape up, or learn to lift weights effectively then I can help you achieve your aspirations. Whilst living in the UK, The US and The Netherlands, fitness has provided me with a way to meet many people and get involved in the community. I’ve always participated in a variety of competitive sports, and training has allowed me to optimise my performance. I am currently studying Molecular Cell Biology at the University of York, so I understand the science behind physical training, and how it influences both physical and mental health. Through these processes, I fell in love with strength training as it made me feel empowered and gave me an appreciation for my body, and now I hope to start competing in powerlifting.
My personal training journey started with my dad, motivating him and keeping him on track; he successfully lost over 60kg and transformed his life. Seeing how fitness had such a positive impact on his life inspired me to become certified so that I could help others on their journey as well. Having trained for over 5 years alongside my previous experience in a range of team sports, strength and functional training, I will work with you in a way that is most suitable. My aim is to ensure you enjoy the journey towards achieving your goals.

Rob – Fitness Team
- Level 3 Sports Leader
- Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching
- Level 1 Amateur Boxing Coach
- MArt in Physical Education and Sports Coaching
- 6 years coaching experience
I’ve coached from the age of 16, learning the skills and techniques of boxing and then teaching it to others. I then applied coaching skills in many college modules and took up sports leadership. Looking for the next challenge, I found myself working towards a sports degree, followed by a Masters in Physical Education & Sports Coaching.
I was brought to Supersonic Fitness through work experience whilst studying my masters. I enjoyed working with the team and when a position was available to join as an apprentice and study for my Level 3 Personal Trainers qualification, I was keen to apply! As part of my apprenticeship I will soon be completing my Level 2 Fitness Instructors qualification where I’ll then be able to create personalised programmes, conduct inductions and teach fitness classes until I’m a certified Personal Trainer

Years spent working in retail sales means I have a methodical approach in understanding members’ needs and delivering an accurately precise programme that is both challenging and bespoke.
From a young age, I played basketball to an extremely high level in school and college leading to offers from colleges in the USA before injury struck. I’m a keen footballer, cycler and boxer but I developed a real passion for training in the gym in my early 20’s.
I train in a very classic style for bodybuilding but, instead of focusing on size, I focus on shape and symmetry and having a physique that is practical and ready for sport. As I’ve recently hit my 30s I’ve discovered that gym training is so much more than lifting weights but also, an incredible way to tackle mental health problems so I enjoy both the physical and mental side of my current training.
I’m love teaching classes and giving members something different in terms of exercises and level of challenge. I look forward to completing my level 3 PT course and being able to offer members a more bespoke 1 to 1 service and help all at Supersonic achieve their goals.
